The following is a list of companies whose chews are carried at Dogfather. As with all toys and chews, we advise owners to ALWAYS supervise your dog when chewing on a treat or toy.
Please scroll down for a list of chews we carry.
Canine Ware® Gorilla Chews
GORILLA CHEWS are a new all natural wood chew for dogs. Made from solid Java Wood, it does not splinter, and is a safe alternative for dogs that just love chewing on sticks. The wood is sustainably harvested, and minimally processed to be environmentally friendly. The surface is extremely durable and long lasting, making an excellent chew choice for dental and gum care by reducing plaque build-up. Dogs instinctively love to chew wood, sticks, branches, and furniture, making Gorilla Chews the perfect solution to engage and entertain dogs for hours of gnawing fun.
Yak Cheese Chews
Himalayan Dog Chews were born from an ancient recipe for a hard cheese snack chewed by the people of the Himalayas. In the mountains surrounding
Mt. Everest at more than 15,000 feet, it is made using traditional methods with yak and/or cow milk, and all natural products with no preservatives or binding agents. They’re also gluten-free!
Depending on the size and eating habits of the dog, this can be a very long-lasting dog chew. Dogs must work the end of the treat for hours, softening it with their mouths before small parts of it can be slowly chewed off. When you give this treat to your dog, you know that you are providing them with high-quality eating entertainment.
Dogfather carries a large selection of antler chews for tiny to extra large dogs. They are available in split and whole form, and are the most durable, long lasting and clean chews on the market for your dog. They are a great source of protein, calcium, glucosamine and chondroitin. Even dogs with allergies can have an antler as they can not chew off enough antler in one sitting to cause an allergic reaction.
Please read the following before making a purchase for your dog. Size and type are important depending on your dogs size, age and jaw strength.
Recommended for seniors and puppies as the exposed marrow makes this chew less tough on young or old teeth that may be brittle. If your dog still has puppy teeth, or is over the age of 7-8, we recommend ONLY giving a split antler to be sure there are no cracked teeth.
Recommended for healthy dogs who have all their adult teeth and are under the age of 7-8. It is very important that the right size is chosen to be sure that the antler can not be swallowed whole or cracked. Please ask a sales associate to help you when buying an antler for your dog. If chosen correctly, these chews can last for months.
Bully sticks are 100% digestible chews derived from Beef and Water Buffalo. Dogfather carries 6″ to 24″ bully sticks in regular, spiral and braided form. Our most popular bully stick is the 12″ Jumbo USA bully stick which is odorless and long lasting compared with most other bully sticks. Please be sure to watch your dog as they are getting to the last 2 inches of the stick. Some dogs are known to swallow the last bit whole, which can lead to chocking.
A great chew for small dogs, or a treat for large dogs. Even the pickiest of dogs LOVE these. Made from USA beef, available individually or packaged.
Porkhide rolls are a great choice for those that are trying to get away from traditional “Raw Hide”. Raw hide is dangerous as it is not digestible, and can get stuck in the intestinal tract. Porkhide is made of pig skin, which is digestible, unlike cow hide. It is also much more natural, as it is only smoked and dried, unlike rawhide which goes through a chemical bleaching process (much of which is still on the chew when the dog ends up with it). These chews last almost as long as a bully stick, and are definitely a tasty and healthy treat for your canine friend.
Cold Smoked Bison, Elk and Lamb Bones
The cold smoked process helps bones retain their moisture allowing the bones to be safe for consumption. At Dogfather, we don’t recommend giving ANY forms of cooked bones to your dog, however cold smoked bones are the only exception to this rule. Most dogs LOVE these. A great chew to keep them busy for hours.
Raw Bones are by far the best thing you can do for your dogs teeth. They come frozen, and you can choose to thaw it before you feed it, or give it while its still frozen. Some raw bones are just a chew treat, but some are actually a meal replacement. Be sure to ask our staff which is which, as you don’t want to be giving your dog their regular dinner if you gave then a meal replacement bone. This will make them fat if done on a regular basis.
Raw bones are an excellent choice to keep your pup busy for hours. After just one marrow bone, you’ll notice a significant reduction in plaque on your dogs teeth. They will love you for it.
